Self Doubt Conquered by a Simple Statement

One of the toughest things I’ve had to deal with as a writer is not the editing, or the marketing, but the occasional feeling of self-doubt. It's that little voice that whispers in your ear “no one cares”. It makes you feel like you’re alone; it makes you want to give up. But self-doubt can be conquered.

It didn’t take much for me to overcome my recent bout with self-doubt. Sharing my thoughts with another writer let me know that I wasn’t alone in my frustration. Her words lifted my spirit and brightened my day. Her simple statement, “keep at it” went a long way.

The next time self-doubt comes creeping in, I will look for a sympathetic ear from a fellow author - there is strength in numbers.

What helps you when self-doubt whispers in your ear?
